P.U.

Regarding Les Misérables by Victor Hugo, I really loved this part. It's just so charged and yet somber. Valjean's resigned himself to spending the rest of his days in prison. Javert's grappling with himself, and honestly, I think this whole excursion with Marius is just him stalling. So. It's a very tense few scenes.

Unfortunately, the whole time, I was more than a little preoccupied with the thought that Valjean had just slogged through the sewers up to his neck in... well... you know. If I had to share a cab with him, I'd barf. Javert has an iron stomach. So does Valjean, for that matter. SHEEEEEESH.

The book was really just beautiful and there are so many cool images from it in my head, but I lack the talent to actually put them down on paper. Instead, I turn out a dorky cartoon featuring the basest of humor. Yup.

This took several weeks and I don't know how many hours. LOTS. I can say that I watched about ten Aggie baseball games while working on this, and a game, on average, lasts from 2.5 to 3 hours. And there was more time on top of that. So. LOTS.
