Raoul Is

Finally... it's finished! This took weeks. No exaggeration. But I think it was worth it to do a good job. And I really like how it turned out. ^-^

This is done for the "Character Is" project proposed by *nillia. I decided to make one for Raoul, because I don't think I have ever seen a character more abused. Poor Raoul is such a nice guy; I just wanted to remind everyone! First, I was going to make this book Raoul, because I like drawing him better. Then that made me think that I should probably take the opportunity to practice movie Raoul. I think movie Raoul is more abused, anyway. ^-^

You're supposed to read each column top to bottom before you move on to the next one.

Panel Two: Remember that underage drinking makes Raoul cry.

Panel Four: With the exception of Ginobili, those are all misspellings that I've actually seen. O.o I've seen some pretty good butcherings of "viscount/vicomte" and "Chagny," as well. Please, please, please! It takes only a few seconds to Google and find out how to spell Raoul. Manu Ginobili is a basketball player. I can pronounce his name, but most of the time, I don't. I call him Giniblidoo, Ginibidydy, Giniblibob, Gibibidy, and just about anything other than Ginobili. It just reminds me of how many different ways people spell "Raoul."

Panel Five: I don't know what possessed me to draw him in his "Masquerade" costume. Especially since I'm usually not so great at detail. For an endeavor of mine, though, I think it turned out pretty well. He's blushing because of all of the nice things I said about him. Isn't he sweet?

Panel Six: I was going to add words to the paper, but it's more dramatic when it's blank. "Oh my gosh, Raoul is so insensitive that he would rather stare at a blank newspaper than help Christine save his babies!" Please. Raoul is not going to ignore Christine.

Panel Seven: The word "fop" is too overused. Raoul is not a fop. In all of the versions of PotO that I've come across, Raoul has never been overly obsessed with his appearance and dress. Please stop using this word. You see that picture? That's what you mean when you say "fop." And that's not our dear Raoul. That's not him at all.

Panel Eight: I like the drawing of Raoul here. It's too bad he's being a meanie! Would someone like to point me to any indication that Raoul would be an abusive husband?

Panel Nine: Awww! I love this picture of Raoul, he looks so cute and happy. ^-^ Erik is my favorite character. Sometimes I think I'm the only Erik fan girl out there who likes Raoul/Christine. If there's anyone else out there who feels the same, props to you. Erik is there for the next panel.

Panel Ten: I'm not particularly happy with the drawing of Raoul in this panel. So many fics have Raoul being a jerk and Christine running to Erik who always seems to be waiting and willing to take her back. Gouge my eyes out with a spoon. Raoul loves Christine... he'd never do anything to hurt Christine. So stop hanging around, Poto!

Panel Twelve: Behold my wonderful gun and lasso drawing skills!

Now you know that Raoul really is a wonderful person! Christine's lucky to have him. I still like to poke fun at him; he's just so easy to poke. ^-^ But... doing stuff like this to him is just... wrong.
